This seminar is intended for high school English teachers and aims to enhance their ability to develop students’ reading and listening (receptive) skills. Participants will examine the significance of these skills in language learning, gain insight into the structure and expectations of Part I of the National English Exam, and explore practical strategies to improve students’ comprehension of texts and spoken language.
The session will feature evidence-based methods for teaching receptive skills, including the use of authentic materials and task types that foster deeper understanding (e.g., AI-supported and guided-discovery tasks). Participants will also engage with assessment techniques and sample tasks that support meaningful, constructive feedback.
Blending theoretical foundations with hands-on application, the seminar provides a collaborative space for reflection and the exchange of best practices among educators.
