This seminar explores practical strategies for designing mediation tasks derived from existing course book materials, helping teachers integrate the CEFR’s mediation descriptors into their classroom practice. Participants will examine how to adapt texts, visuals, and activities from standard ELT resources to create authentic tasks related to text mediation and the mediation of group collaboration processes that foster collaboration, negotiation, and inclusive participation. The session will include hands-on examples showing how to transform receptive or productive exercises into mediation opportunities, aligning them with learners’ needs and levels. By the end, teachers will be equipped with adaptable frameworks and criteria to enhance course book lessons through purposeful mediation activities.
