WORKSHOP

Interactive exercises to foster tolerance and empathy

The interactive approach to teaching values offers possibilities that many other methodologies do not. Being active participants, not passive observers, the students can develop their abilities to see a problematic real-life situation from another person’s point of view or from another culture’s perspective. It also allows the students to refine and elaborate their understanding of the situation and think of possible solutions to various issues arising in real-life. The workshop aims at demonstrating two value-based interactive activities which teachers can integrate into their curriculum. With options for all grade levels, these activities will show ho we can build empathy, encourage acceptance and teamwork, address the value of diversity and help reduce intolerance.
