This seminar will explore both summative and formative assessment, emphasizing their roles in evaluating students’ achievement and supporting learning. Participants will discuss key concepts and scales used to describe different levels of achievement, and how these can be meaningfully linked to assessment practices. The session will introduce the principles of competency-based assessment and guide participants in designing criteria that address all dimensions of learning – knowledge, skills, and attitudes – ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of students’ competencies. In addition, the seminar will highlight approaches to formative and self-assessment, strategies for giving and gathering feedback, and a range of practical examples for classroom application.
