“EFL: Fundamental Learning Goals and Language Learner Strategies“

Klaipeda ‘Vetrunge’ gymnasium was the host for the second Klaipeda regional English language teachers’ conference on October 29, 2015. A full day of plenary speakers and presentations focused on the topic of “EFL: Fundamental Learning Goals and Language Learner Strategies.” Over 170 teachers from Klaipeda, Plunge, Silute, Taurage and other towns in the region attended the engaging and informative presentations. Methological projects were also presented by teachers and awards were given for the most productive projects.
Plenary speakers were Sandra Degtiar, Klaipeda University; AsterijaKliaugiene, Express Publishing; VilijaSipaite, Ministry of Education; and Dr. Robin Gingerich, LCC International University.
Following the plenary speakers and coffee break, teachers had the opportunity to choose from 6 different workshops and 16 presenters. Teachers learned about such themes as teaching young learners, technology in the classroom, kinaesthetic learning, thinking maps, e-Twinning, and using movies in the language classrooms. Teachers were also invited to purchase books from the display tables presented by Pearson and Express Publishing.
