The seminar aims at exploring how the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with multimodal learning environments (visual, audiovisual, auditory, and interactive) can significantly enhance students’ critical thinking abilities and media literacy skills. It will demonstrate how generative AI tools such as Ideogram.ai, Stable Diffusion Web, Socrative AI, Infogram, Genially, Twee, and ChatGPT empower learners to better perceive and evaluate information, analyse AI-generated and mediated visual content, detect biases, and think critically to understand and construct arguments. The seminar will illustrate how interactive reflections foster higher-order thinking and emphasize learning as an ongoing process. The overall goal is to equip participants with the latest approaches for exploring media contexts and using AI tools to accelerate language acquisition while enabling B1, B2 language level learners to critically assess and responsibly engage with AI-driven media and information sources in today’s technology-rich environment.
