Workshop “Synesthesia and Associations in the English Language Classroom”
The terms “Synesthesia” and “Synesthete” will be introduced to the workshop participants in a very practical way. The participants will take an easy test which shows their level of involuntary/voluntary associations. Then, a few methods suitable for English language teaching will be presented. The methods have been generated during the process of teaching in class and also private tutoring. They can be used for teaching alphabet, grammar and vocabulary (level A1) or for teaching tenses, passive voice etc. (levels B1-B2). Although not every method is suitable for colour-blind people, all methods can be successfully applied with kinaesthetic and visual learning style audiences. The workshop is targeted at English language teachers working at different levels of education.
