Competency building, leadership and teamwork as values in education
The session is based on the situational leadership model, which highlights the importance, worth, and usefulness of sharing responsibilities in education. It is the leadership theory developed by Paul Hersey. The participants will be involved in several activities demonstrating the effective leadership in a group, and the possibilities of the most successful leaders to adapt their leadership style to the performance readiness (ability and willingness) of the individual or the group they are attempting to lead or influence. The theory will be illustrated by a video which will demonstrate that being a leader in different situations is not always easy and leadership can be executed in different ways. The participants of the session will try out the model in practice.
