Presentation “Usborne in the EFL Classroom – A Creative Approach to Learning for Children”
Usborne (www.usborne.com) is the leading British publisher of English children’s books, now available to every school and language centre in Lithuania. More and more English teachers are discovering the advantages of using these top quality books in their lessons as they are published in English and can be easily adapted for use as supplementary materials for making learning English fun. Usborne books give teachers the scope to develop their lessons further through simple creative activities that are attractive to children. In this Workshop we will look at ways of adapting Usborne books for use in the EFL classroom and creating our own teaching materials using Usborne books as inspiration. In addition we will look at ways of encouraging children learning English to develop their language skills further by motivating them to read regularly.
A New Project for Teachers
Usborne is launching a new European project this Autumn called ‘Learn English with Usborne’. English teachers from all over Europe are being invited to develop new ideas for teaching, based on Usborne books, and introduce them to children in local preschools, primary schools, language schools and also local libraries in the form of Creative Workshops together with Usborne book fairs. Anyone interested in taking part in this project is very welcome – teachers will have the opportunity of finding out more about the possibility of joining Usborne and bringing this new and very exciting project to their local communities too.
